She comes from Shanghai, China, and is currently majoring in Art and Design and minoring in Gender, Race, and Nation & Community Action and Social Change. Yuchen's art practice involves a wide range of mediums, including illustration, bookmaking, mixed-media, animation, documentary, installation, and so on. She also likes to use research, interviewing & collecting stories, and creative writing in the art-making process. For her, art is expressive and healing, and she wants to use art to advocate for hidden voices and to connect with and empower people.
