Our strategy
Collaboratory members (staff, faculty, post-docs, students) will: (1) develop theory to ground arts-based research; (2) pursue arts-based methods to advance social justice and anti-racism; (3) develop interventions to advance social justice and anti-racism at individual, , institutional, and structural levels; and (4) engage with social work professionals and artists in the community at large.
Our Purpose
The Collaboratory will employ an intersectional perspective to develop arts-based theories and interventions to address racism and other forms of prejudice: colorism, homophobia, ageism, etc. The Collaboratory will support collaborators in conducting art-based research and art practices in order to help them become change agents.
TRANSFORMATION
Envisioning and exploring arts-based research and methods for systemic reconfiguration of societal structures and practices to redress inequalities.
RELATIONSHIP BUILDING
Collaborators practice acceptance, joy, authenticity, accountability, humility, equity, and transparency.
IMPACT
The Collaboratory will facilitate arts-based community engagement around racial justice,anti-racist praxis, and other social justice issues.
