Dr. Lindsay Bornheimer is an Associate Professor in the University of Michigan School of Social Work, Associate Professor in the Michigan Medicine Department of Psychiatry, and Director of the Suicide prevention, Treatment, and Research (STaR) Lab. Her research focuses on understanding and preventing suicide death among adults experiencing serious mental illness, with specific focus on advancing theories of suicide, developing and testing behavioral interventions, and increasing the utility and scalability of evidence-informed interventions in mental health care. As an art enthusiast, Dr. Bornheimer has more recently focused on the use of art to facilitate engagement in suicide prevention efforts and reduce stigma of suicide-related and mental health experiences.
